"Which platform should I open my store on?" is almost the first question anyone asks once they decide to move from selling in messages to a real store. And the answer you find in the groups is usually "the platform I'm on", not the platform that suits you.
In this article we collected 11 platforms you can open an online store on while in Egypt, Egyptian, Arab and global, and listed the main features of each one as advertised on its official website, so you can compare for yourself and choose what suits your business.
In short: the best-known platforms for opening a store in Egypt are HalaOrders, Shopify, EasyOrders, Wuilt, Zid Egypt, ExpandCart, Qumra, Shanta, Wix, WooCommerce and Lightfunnels. There is no "best" platform for everyone: the real differences are the pricing model (a fixed subscription, a fee per order or free), the payment currency (pounds or dollars), support for cash on delivery, wallets and InstaPay, and integration with Egyptian shipping companies.
Before you read: the order here isn't a ranking from strongest to weakest. HalaOrders comes first because we are the ones writing the article, and you have the right to know that. Each platform's features are taken from its official website at the time of writing (October 2026), and prices and features change, so check them before you decide.
Before comparing: what actually matters to an Egyptian merchant?
Most "best platforms" articles compare the number of templates and apps. That matters, but it isn't what makes or loses you money in Egypt. What actually matters is 6 things:

- The pricing model: a fixed monthly or yearly subscription, a small fee on each order, or free with the platform earning from shipping and payments.
- The payment currency: a subscription in pounds isn't the same as one in dollars, because the exchange rate changes your monthly cost.
- Cash on delivery: and tools to reduce fake orders, such as a deposit before shipping. Read how to reduce fake cash-on-delivery orders.
- Local online payments: Meeza cards, mobile wallets, InstaPay and gateways like Paymob. The details are in online payment methods in Egypt.
- Shipping: delivery fees by governorate and city, and integration with Egyptian shipping companies.
- Arabic: a store with correct right-to-left layout, and a dashboard and support in Arabic.

Don't want your own store? Marketplaces
In Egypt you can also sell as a seller on Amazon Egypt, noon and Jumia. The advantage is that the visitors are already there, and the drawback is that you sell next to your competitors on the same page, pay a commission on every sale, and the customer belongs to the marketplace, not to you.
Many merchants do both: the marketplace for reach, and their own store for the brand, customer data and repeat orders without commission.
10 questions to ask any platform before you subscribe
- Is the price in pounds or dollars? And does it renew at the same price or go up?
- Are there fees per order or per transaction on top of the subscription?
- Does cash on delivery support a deposit before shipping?
- Do you support InstaPay and Vodafone Cash? And is confirming them automatic or manual?
- Does online payment money go straight to my account, or to the platform first?
- Can I set different delivery fees for each governorate and city?
- Which shipping companies are you integrated with?
- Can I connect my own domain? And is the SSL certificate on you or on me?
- If I want to leave, can I export my products, customers and orders?
- Is technical support in Arabic? And how fast does it reply?
Whoever answers these questions clearly and in writing will most likely be clear with you after you subscribe.
How to choose in 3 steps
- Estimate your expected orders per month. If you are just starting and orders are few, a fee per order or a free plan is usually cheaper. If your orders are steady and growing, a fixed subscription becomes better value.
- Identify where your orders come from. If most of your sales come from Facebook and TikTok ads, focus on landing pages, pixels and a quick order form. If they come from Google search, focus on product pages, speed and SEO.
- Try before you pay. Open a free trial on two or three platforms, add 5 products, place one test order with cash and one online, and look at the experience on a phone the way your customer will.
If you want to try HalaOrders, open your store and it will be live right away, with a 7-day trial and no activation fee.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best platform for creating an online store in Egypt?
There is no platform that is best for everyone. The best-known options are HalaOrders, Shopify, EasyOrders, Wuilt, Zid Egypt, ExpandCart, Qumra, Shanta, Wix, WooCommerce and Lightfunnels. Choose based on the pricing model that suits your order volume, the payment currency, support for cash on delivery, wallets and InstaPay, and shipping by governorate.
Is there a free online store platform in Egypt?
Yes. Wuilt is free for merchants in Egypt and earns from shipping and payment services, Zid Egypt has a Starter plan free for life, EasyOrders has a plan that starts free with a small fee on each order, and HalaOrders has a per-order plan with no monthly subscription. WooCommerce itself is free, but you will pay for hosting and plugins.
Which platforms are priced in Egyptian pounds?
According to their websites at the time of writing: HalaOrders (from 2,100 EGP for 3 months, or a per-order plan), Shanta (from 550 EGP a month) and Qumra (from 450 EGP a month according to its blog). Shopify, EasyOrders, Wix and Lightfunnels are priced in dollars.
Does Shopify work in Egypt?
Yes, you can open a Shopify store from Egypt with the subscription in dollars, and there is a Paymob payment app on the Shopify App Store. Count the subscription along with the paid apps you will need.
Should I open my own store or sell on Amazon and noon?
A marketplace gives you ready visitors but takes a commission on every sale, and the customer isn't yours. Your own store builds the brand, lets you own your customer data and sell to them again without commission. Many merchants combine both.
